ABOUT ME
A Lifetime of Creation
Nature, whether it be the human or an abstraction of life's energy, occupies a large portion of my work. Though emotion can be beautiful if completely experienced, I strongly aim to infuse emotion into my art rather than first-sight figurative beauty.
I am greatly influenced by Chinese brush painting and Japanese calligraphy because I spend the majority of my time in Asia, where the usage of brush, ink and water is essential to expressing feeling and infusing your mood into each brushstroke. I try to strike a balance between these two very distinct approaches using both my training in Western art and my experience in Asia.
In order to make a stronger impression, I like working in 3D and outside of the plane. When unexpected emotional expression results from experimenting with different materials, I can feel it in my soul as a "click"
